Agent Informal Procedures for Commercial

TO ALL AGENTS:

The Tarrant Appraisal District will send out the first run of commercial value notices on May 1st. We will begin the 2024 Informal Agent Appointment Process on Wednesday, May 1st, and it will initially run through Friday, June 14th. After that date, informal reviews and negotiations will continue, as time permits. INFORMAL SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON A CONFERENCE CALL BETWEEN THE AGENT AND THE TAD REPRESENTATIVE. Please note, that if all accounts are completed prior to the scheduled time, a representative will not contact you unless specifically asked to.

All informal meetings will need to be scheduled by going here or by scanning the QR code below.

You will need to have a valid email address and a preferred contact number when scheduling. If you need to cancel an appointment, please log into the Appointy scheduling system and cancel there.

You may email your Appointment of Agent to AOA@tad.org.

Remember your authorization MUST be entered into our system before a resolution or joint motion (41.47g-1) can be processed. Failure to have your authorization entered in our system will prevent your resolution and/or joint motions from printing your information and processing.

All evidence being submitted by agents for review must be emailed to cevidence@tad.org as a pdf file. Please title your email and evidence as follows:

Email Subject - Agency Name/Agent Name/Agency Number
Evidence PDF's - Account Number

Please indicate after the account number if the account is an apartment, nursing home, hotel or special property. Evidence for each account must be submitted at least three days prior to your appointment. You MUST also include in your email a list of accounts to be discussed, preferably in an excel document. Multiple pdf files can be sent in a zip file.

We encourage you to send any evidence, as soon as possible, for our review and possible settlement.

Once the list of accounts has been received, a uniform informal spreadsheet will be created. The evidence will then be assigned to an appraiser for review. The appraiser will email your informal value offers, using the email you provided when you scheduled your appointment. Upon agreement, the appraiser will send over a single DocuSign for your signature. This DocuSign will include a Joint motion agreement with the pdf version of the excel document with values.

We hope that these new informal procedures will be beneficial and time saving for both the district and the tax agencies.

Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to a successful year.
